Mrs. Emily Apyan, LMSW
Who I Am
Mrs. Apyan is a Social Worker specializing in senior and caregiver mental health, family systems, and multicultural issues. She works with children, adolescents, adults, and families navigating grief and loss, major life transitions, caregiver stress, and family conflict, always in a non-judgmental environment.
She holds a Master of Social Work with a Concentration in Geriatrics from the University of Southern California (2015) and is fluent in English and French, with a deep commitment to culturally competent, patient-centered care.
Mrs. Apyan joined Ansari & Associates to bring her extensive background in aging, family systems, and child therapy to the clinical team. Prior to joining the practice, she served as Vice President of Operations at Elder Tree Care Management in Northern Virginia, overseeing care for hundreds of older adults and their families through one of the region's largest care management organizations. She previously served as Executive Director at Sunrise of Alexandria, leading a team of 65 staff and 8 department coordinators supporting 110 residents in Assisted Living and Memory Care, and has held roles as an Assisted Living and Social Services Manager and direct Social Worker. This experience gives her an unusually deep, firsthand understanding of the systems, stressors, and decisions that families face when caring for aging loved ones.
